In a move few saw coming, Chelsea are reportedly exploring a surprise return for former defensive stalwart Antonio Rudiger.
The German centre-back, who left Stamford Bridge in 2022 to join Real Madrid on a free transfer, is now back on the Blues’ radar.
According to FootballTransfers, Chelsea have made contact with Rudiger’s camp to monitor his situation at the Bernabéu.
While the 32-year-old is settled in Madrid, tensions behind the scenes—particularly with his agent and brother, Sahr Senesie—have raised questions about his long-term future.
Sources suggest that Rudiger has become increasingly difficult to manage, following a fallout with Senesie late last year.
Despite this, Chelsea appear undeterred by his strong personality, with one insider calling him “a leader, a warrior” and exactly the presence needed in the current squad.
