Chelsea Football Club has offered more than £42 million to sign Jamie Gittens, a young and talented winger, from Borussia Dortmund — but the German team said no thanks!
Jamie, who is just 20 years old, used to play in Chelsea’s youth academy as a kid and now dreams of returning to play for the Blues.
He currently plays for Dortmund in Germany and even scored eight goals in the league last season!
Even though Jamie is excited about joining Chelsea, the two clubs can’t agree on the price.
This makes it unclear if he’ll join in time for the Club World Cup, which has a transfer deadline coming up soon.
But Chelsea fans shouldn’t give up hope! The club might try again after the deadline.
They’re also keeping an eye on other players like Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United and Mohammed Kudus from West Ham.
Chelsea was also thinking about signing goalkeeper Mike Maignan from AC Milan, but they backed out after Milan asked for more money than Chelsea wanted to spend.
Jamie Gittens started in Manchester City’s academy, then moved to Dortmund in 2020.
