Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is expected to join Arsenal from Chelsea in a deal worth £5 million.

After spending the past two seasons on loan—first at Real Madrid and then at Bournemouth—Kepa is ready to make a permanent move.

Arsenal has been searching for a backup goalkeeper to support their main man, David Raya.

They had looked at other players like Espanyol’s Joan Garcia, but when Garcia seemed likely to join Barcelona, Arsenal turned their focus to Kepa.

Kepa used to be Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper after joining from Athletic Bilbao in 2017 for a massive £72 million fee.

But over time, he lost his spot and hasn’t played much for Chelsea in recent years.

Even though Chelsea’s goalkeeper situation is uncertain right now, it’s clear they don’t see Kepa as their future number one.

Arsenal and Chelsea are now close to finalizing the deal.

Once everything is agreed upon, Kepa will move to North London and wear an Arsenal jersey next season.
