Manchester City, one of the top football teams in the world, has added a new player to their squad — Rayan Ait-Nouri!
He is a 24-year-old defender from Algeria, and he used to play for Wolverhampton Wanderers (also called Wolves).
The club paid £31 million to sign him.
Ait-Nouri will now play for Manchester City until the year 2030.
He is also ready to help the team in an important tournament coming up — the FIFA Club World Cup.
City’s first match in that competition will be against Wydad AC from Morocco on June 18.
Who Is Rayan Ait-Nouri?
Rayan Ait-Nouri began his football career in France and later joined Wolves in the English Premier League.
At Wolves, he played very well — last season, he played in 41 matches, scored 5 goals, and made 7 assists.
He was a big reason Wolves didn’t get relegated. Now, he’s moving to a bigger club and will face new challenges.
What Ait-Nouri Said
Ait-Nouri is super excited about joining City. He said:
“City are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the chance to play for the club is a dream come true.”
“I am excited about working with and learning from Pep Guardiola and his coaching team and getting to train and play alongside such a world class group of players.”
