After spending six years at Manchester City, 39-year-old goalkeeper Scott Carson is leaving the team this summer when his contract ends.

Even though Carson only played two games for City, he was part of a team that won 11 major trophies, including the famous Treble (Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League) in the 2022–23 season.

Carson joined City in 2019 on loan from Derby County and signed permanently in 2021.

Most of the time, he was the third-choice goalkeeper, behind Ederson and Stefan Ortega, which meant he didn’t play very often—just 117 minutes total in six years!

In 2021, he saved a penalty in a 4–3 win against Newcastle United.

He also came on as a substitute in a Champions League game against Sporting Lisbon in 2022.

His teammates and coaches praised him for his positive attitude and hard work, saying he helped keep the team motivated and focused.

Kyle Walker, his former teammate, said:
“It takes a lot of strength to keep showing up every day, knowing you might not play. Scott has had a great career and still loves football. He’s the kind of person every team needs.”
