Arsenal have suffered another injury blow as their key defender has been ruled out for the remainder of the season following surgery on his right knee.

The 26-year-old Japanese international, Takehiro Tomiyasu, who has struggled with injuries in recent months, will now undergo an extended rehabilitation process.

Tomiyasu, who joined the Gunners from Bologna in 2021, has made just one appearance this season—a substitute cameo in Arsenal’s Premier League victory over Southampton in October.

His injury troubles began in pre-season, leading to an initial surgery in August. However, persistent knee issues have forced him under the knife again, sidelining him until late 2025.

In a heartfelt message on Instagram, Tomiyasu expressed his frustration:

I’ve had a surgery on my knee few days ago and l’ve already started my rehab to do what I love the most again. It has been the toughest period in my career for sure and it carries on a bit more but I won’t give up.

Arsenal’s injury list continues to grow, with key players like Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz also ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Additionally, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Ben White are struggling with fitness concerns, leaving manager Mikel Arteta with a depleted squad as they chase Premier League leaders Liverpool.
