With Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future at Liverpool still uncertain, the club is exploring potential replacements.
The England international has yet to renew his contract and is reportedly considering a switch to Real Madrid, where he could join Jude Bellingham.
Wesley emerged as a strong candidate to fill the right-back role, with Liverpool making initial inquiries about his availability. However, fresh reports indicate that Barcelona has gained the upper hand in the race.
Barcelona Preparing an Official Bid
According to Brazilian outlet Gavea News, Wesley ‘dreams’ of playing for Barcelona despite Liverpool’s interest. Spanish publication Sport adds that Barça is preparing an official offer to bring him to La Liga.
While the exact transfer fee remains unknown, Barcelona’s growing interest could force Liverpool to look elsewhere if they fail to convince the young defender.
Wesley França has transformed from a promising youth to Flamengo's indispensable right-back, making waves in the Brazilian Serie A this season.

Manchester United and Zenit Saint Petersburg are also monitoring the situation, with Zenit reportedly ready to table a €30 million (£24.8m) bid for the young defender.
Liverpool’s Alternative Target
Should Alexander-Arnold depart and Wesley opt for Barcelona, Liverpool will have to shift their focus to other options
One such target is Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, who is also on Manchester City’s radar.
