Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, is thinking about leaving the club.
He might join Al-Hilal, a football team in Saudi Arabia, which has made him a very big offer.
Why Might Bruno Leave?
Bruno’s team has talked with people from Al-Hilal recently.
The Saudi club wants him to join them in time for the Club World Cup. This is a tournament where top clubs from around the world compete.
If Bruno accepts the deal, he could earn more than double his current salary.
Although he is still training and playing with Manchester United on their tour in Asia, Bruno hasn’t promised he will stay.
This has made some people think he may be ready to go.
What Does Manchester United Think?
Manchester United isn’t panicking. The coach, Ruben Amorim, still wants Bruno to stay.
He recently said Bruno is a great leader who cares about the team and plays with passion.
But the club also knows that if Al-Hilal pays around £80 million, they could use that money to bring in new players and rebuild the squad.
Bruno’s Importance to the Team
Bruno is one of the most important players at Manchester United.
He scored 19 goals last season, more than anyone else on the team. Some fans and experts believe United would have struggled a lot without him.
He joined the club in 2020 from Sporting Lisbon for £47 million.
Since then, he’s played 290 games and scored 98 goals. He even won the club’s Player of the Year award for a fourth time recently.
However, not everyone praises him.
Former captain Roy Keane said Bruno sometimes lacks discipline and is part of the team’s problems.
