Three of the Premier League’s biggest clubs — Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United — are all reportedly keeping a close eye on Gianluigi Donnarumma, as questions grow around his future at Paris Saint-Germain.
At just 26, Donnarumma is already considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
He had a fantastic 2024–25 season and played a key role for PSG and the Italian national team.
But despite all that, his long-term future in Paris isn’t entirely certain.

A New Deal — Or a New Club?
Donnarumma’s current contract runs until June 2026, but PSG are hoping to negotiate a new deal sooner rather than later. The issue? Wages.
While Donnarumma has publicly said, “I want to stay,” PSG reportedly want to tie his pay more closely to the number of games he plays — which would cut his base salary.
That hasn’t gone down well with the Italian keeper, and he’s apparently ready to walk away if the deal doesn’t feel right.
Premier League Giants Are Watching
If PSG can’t get the contract sorted, Chelsea, Man City, and Man United are all ready to pounce.
None of the three clubs is desperate for a goalkeeper right now — but when a talent like Donnarumma becomes available, you don’t ignore it.
This is a player with over 160 appearances for PSG and 56 clean sheets to his name since joining from AC Milan in 2021.
PSG’s Star Man Between the Sticks
PSG is currently on top of European football, and they’ll face Chelsea in the Club World Cup final on Sunday night.
With a rock-solid defence, elite midfield, and electric attack, their backbone still rests on one man — Donnarumma.
He’s not just their last line of defence — he’s a leader, a winner, and a player they can’t afford to lose.
What Happens Next?
Despite the contract drama, the most likely outcome is that Donnarumma stays at PSG and signs a new long-term deal.
But with Premier League heavyweights circling, things could change quickly — especially if the negotiations stall.
