Raheem Sterling’s short-term stint at Arsenal may be drawing to a close, but uncertainty continues to surround what comes next for the 30-year-old winger.
Despite arriving in north London on loan from Chelsea last summer, no decision has yet been made on whether Arsenal will seek to keep him beyond this season.
The move came after reports suggested Sterling would be frozen out under new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca.
With no permanent option attached to the deal and Chelsea agreeing to cover a significant portion of his wages, the loan represented a temporary solution for all parties.

However, the England international has struggled to make a lasting impact at the Emirates.
Out of his 24 appearances so far, only 11 have been starts. He has managed just one goal and five assists in that span — far from the attacking output Arsenal might have hoped for.
According to The Mail, Sterling has not been informed of any firm plans by Arsenal regarding his future.
Though manager Mikel Arteta has praised his professionalism and presence behind the scenes, Sterling has largely featured as a backup option amid injury crises involving Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus.
A return to Chelsea this summer remains the most likely outcome, but the west London club reportedly has no desire to reintegrate him into the first team.

Sterling’s wages — believed to exceed £300,000 a week — are considered a growing burden for the club’s financial structure.
There’s even speculation that Chelsea may be willing to negotiate a financial settlement to facilitate his departure, cutting short the final two years of his contract in exchange for wage relief.
Sterling became the first marquee signing of the Todd Boehly era in 2022, arriving for £47.5 million from Manchester City.
While he’s tallied 19 goals and 15 assists in 81 games for Chelsea, his output has been inconsistent.
