Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has returned to training but remains a doubt for the upcoming Premier League showdown against Tottenham on April 3.
The 22-year-old has been struggling with a muscular injury that saw him miss Chelsea’s defeat to Arsenal and England’s wins over Albania and Latvia during the international break.
Palmer was initially expected to recover in time for the Blues’ away fixture against Arsenal. However, lingering concerns over his fitness have cast doubt on his availability.
The Daily Mail previously reported that Palmer had yet to train with his teammates at Cobham since picking up the injury.

Despite his return, manager Enzo Maresca is unlikely to rush him back into action.
Palmer was initially named in England’s squad for the recent international break but was forced to withdraw, missing victories over Albania and Latvia.
Manager Enzo Maresca will be eager to see Palmer back in action, especially as the forward is experiencing his first dip in form since joining from Manchester City in 2023.
He last scored on January 14 against Bournemouth, with a 10-game goal drought compounded by his injury setback.
Despite this rough patch, Maresca remains confident in Palmer’s abilities, urging patience:
“It’s normal. It’s like a team. You cannot expect Cole Palmer, every season or every game, to be like last season or like the first part of the season. It’s normal, it’s something normal.
He’s a human being, he’s missing some things and now it’s how we react. So I was telling him that. Everything is normal. He’s happy, he’s okay.“
While Palmer’s availability is in question, Chelsea have received a boost with Nicolas Jackson returning to training after a hamstring injury.
