Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has hinted at a potential permanent move for Chelsea loanee Trevoh Chalobah.
The 25-year-old defender has been a standout performer for the Eagles this season, establishing himself as a key part of the team’s defensive line and contributing significantly to their goal tally.
Chalobah joined Crystal Palace on a season-long loan last summer after being informed by Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca that he had no future at Stamford Bridge.
Despite a £25 million price tag deterring potential buyers, Palace seized the opportunity to bring him in on the final day of the transfer window. However, no option to buy was included in the deal.

Since arriving at Selhurst Park, Chalobah has flourished, forming a formidable defensive partnership with Marc Guehi and Maxence Lacroix. His prowess at set-pieces has also been evident, with the Englishman scoring three goals this season.
In a recent press conference ahead of Palace’s clash with Chelsea, Glasner acknowledged Chalobah’s contributions while addressing speculation about a permanent move.
A deal happens if three parties are happy with it: the two clubs and the player. Trevoh has been exceptional for us. His goals are a bonus, but his defensive consistency is what truly stands out.
Palace’s Defensive Strength
The Eagles’ defensive unit has been one of their strengths this season, with defenders contributing 40% of the team’s goals. Glasner highlighted this, noting:
Trevoh has three goals, Lacroix has one, and Guehi has two. Add Daniel Munoz, and our backline has scored eight goals.
Chalobah’s long-term future at Chelsea remains uncertain, with the Blues reportedly keen to sell.
The defender still has over four years left on his Chelsea contract, but his successful stint at Palace could make a permanent move appealing to all parties involved.
