As Liverpool prepares to face Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final at Anfield, football pundit Gary Neville has made a bold prediction.
Despite Liverpool’s dominant position in the Premier League, sitting 29 points above Spurs, Neville believes that Tottenham has what it takes to secure a draw and advance to the final.
Tottenham Holds the Advantage

While Liverpool remains the favorite on paper, history has shown that anything can happen on big European nights at Anfield.
Neville’s Bold Prediction
Speaking on The Overlap US, Neville expressed his belief that Spurs will pull off an unexpected result:
I think Tottenham. I think Tottenham are going to get a draw. I don’t know how they’re going to do it at Anfield, but I feel like it’s going to be an emotional, mad night where something happens.
Neville also referenced Postecoglou’s past success, noting that the manager has a track record of winning trophies in his second year at a club.
While he admitted he isn’t fully convinced by that pattern, he has a “feeling” Tottenham could go all the way and lift the Carabao Cup.
Liverpool’s Challenge Under Arne Slot
Neville’s skepticism about Liverpool is nothing new. Earlier in the season, he predicted that the Reds—under new manager Arne Slot—would finish outside the top four, even below Manchester United.
However, Slot has proven doubters wrong, guiding Liverpool to a strong campaign so far.
Despite Neville’s prediction, Liverpool remains the overwhelming favorite to overturn the deficit and reach the final against Newcastle United.
With a roaring Anfield crowd and a history of comeback victories, the Reds will be eager to prove him wrong once again.
