Liverpool Football Club has made a big move! They’ve agreed to pay £40 million to sign 21-year-old Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.
Kerkez is a left-back who comes from Hungary and played really well last season, helping Bournemouth finish in 9th place — their best ever in the Premier League.
Now, he’s heading to Liverpool, who are the current Premier League champions.
The club is also trying to sign a top player from Germany — Florian Wirtz — in a record deal worth £116 million.
Who Is Milos Kerkez?
Kerkez was born in Serbia but plays for Hungary’s national team.
He started his career in Hungary before moving to Italy and then the Netherlands.
In 2023, he joined Bournemouth and had a great season — scoring 2 goals and assisting 6 more.
He played in every game for Bournemouth last season and made a big difference in defense and attack.
He also created 34 chances and made over 140 crosses into the box!
Now he’ll be joining another Hungarian player at Liverpool — Dominik Szoboszlai.
What Will Happen to Other Liverpool Left-Backs?
Right now, Liverpool already has two left-backs: Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas. But with Kerkez arriving, one of them might leave.
Robertson, who is 31 years old, has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid.
Liverpool may want to keep him, but they know he might leave to get more playing time.
Why Did Liverpool Choose Kerkez?
Kerkez is strong, fast, and fits well with Liverpool’s style of play.
He won the ball more times than any other Liverpool defender last season and even helped in attack.
