Liverpool clinched the Premier League title in breathtaking fashion, demolishing Tottenham Hotspur 5–1 at Anfield and equaling Manchester United’s record of 20 English league titles.
Arne Slot’s team only needed a point to mathematically secure the championship, but they left no doubts, storming to victory with a performance brimming with intensity, flair, and hunger.
A shock early goal from former Liverpool man Dominic Solanke for Spurs was quickly brushed aside as Liverpool surged back, sealing the title in front of a jubilant Anfield crowd.
How the Match Unfolded
Tottenham briefly threatened to spoil Liverpool’s celebrations when Solanke headed them into the lead after just 12 minutes, capitalizing on a James Maddison assist.
But it served only to ignite Liverpool’s fire.
Luis Díaz struck back four minutes later, tapping in Dominik Szoboszlai’s ball after a VAR review overturned an offside decision.
From that moment, there was only one team in it.
Alexis Mac Allister, a standout all season, unleashed a thunderous drive from the edge of the box to give Liverpool the lead after 24 minutes, before Cody Gakpo turned and fired in a third 10 minutes later, sending Anfield into a frenzy.
In the second half, Liverpool pushed for more.
Mohamed Salah, a symbol of Liverpool’s modern era of success, added the fourth, twisting inside and finishing coolly before grabbing a fan’s phone to snap a memorable selfie in front of the Kop.

Destiny Udogie’s unfortunate own goal under pressure from Salah made it five.
By the final whistle, Anfield was awash with red smoke, the fans singing, celebrating not just a single victory, but a return to the summit of English football.
A Historic Triumph Years in the Making
Liverpool’s 2020 title win under Jurgen Klopp had been celebrated in empty stadiums due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This time, Anfield was packed — 60,415 voices united in unfiltered joy.
The scene was electric even hours before kickoff as fans gathered around the stadium, creating clouds of red smoke to welcome the team.
Inside, the players and staff soaked in the atmosphere, culminating in emotional celebrations at full-time.
It had been nearly 35 years since Liverpool last clinched a title in front of their own supporters, when they beat QPR in 1990.
Now, under Slot, a new era had begun.
Arne Slot’s Instant Impact
Taking over from Klopp was considered an almost impossible task, but Arne Slot has made the transition look effortless.
Calm, tactical, and composed, Slot has guided Liverpool to the title at a canter, blending the old guard with new energy.
His team’s dominance over the Premier League this season was underlined not just by results, but by their relentless performances — pressing hard, attacking fluidly, and defending resolutely.
Slot’s achievements were epitomized by Salah’s fourth goal celebration: a moment of pure joy, recognition, and unity between players and fans.
Spurs Struggle Again
Tottenham, meanwhile, played the role of willing party guests.
After Solanke’s opener, they collapsed under Liverpool’s pressure — a familiar pattern in a difficult season marked by inconsistency and disappointment.
Manager Ange Postecoglou rested several key players ahead of their Europa League semi-final, including Son Heung-min, Cristian Romero, and Micky van de Ven.
However, even a full-strength Spurs would likely have found it hard to cope with Liverpool’s intensity.
Postecoglou now faces a monumental task: lifting his players after yet another heavy defeat, with European glory their last shot at redemption.
Standout Performances
Alexis Mac Allister was named Player of the Match with a dazzling display in midfield, while Szoboszlai, Salah, Gakpo, and Díaz all shone in a five-star team performance.
