Manchester United are making big moves in the transfer market.
The Premier League club is showing serious interest in signing Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, who currently plays for Italian team Napoli.
Last summer, Napoli valued Osimhen at a whopping £100 million because of his incredible performance.
He helped them win the Italian Serie A title and scored many important goals. But things have changed since then.
Osimhen’s contract is ending next summer, which means Napoli could lose him for free if they don’t sell him now.
So, they’re open to selling him for about half the price, or roughly £50 million.
✈️ Man United Makes a Move
According to reports from Italian news outlet Il Napolista, Manchester United’s transfer negotiator, Matt Hargreaves, recently flew to Naples for a meeting.
He sat down with Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna and club owner Aurelio De Laurentiis to talk about a possible deal.
The big idea? A swap deal that would include United sending Danish striker Rasmus Højlund to Napoli.
In addition to giving up Højlund, United would also pay €40 million (about £33 million) to bring Osimhen to Old Trafford.
🔄 Why the Swap?
Manchester United are looking for a powerful and proven striker to lead their attack.
Osimhen, known for his speed, strength, and goal-scoring ability, fits that profile.
Although Højlund is young and talented, he didn’t quite deliver the results United hoped for last season.
For Napoli, getting a young striker like Højlund and some extra money could be a good deal, especially if they’re about to lose Osimhen anyway.
