Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is staying positive about his future at the club after leading the team to a Europa League win, even though their league performance this season has been poor.

On Wednesday night, Spurs beat Manchester United in the Europa League final, ending their 17-year wait for a trophy.

Despite this big achievement, many are still unsure if Postecoglou will continue as manager next season.

Tottenham currently sits in 17th place in the Premier League with only one match left to play.

At a parade celebrating the Europa League victory, Postecoglou tried to calm fans by saying, “In all the best TV shows, season three is better than season two.”

But during his press conference before Sunday’s match against Brighton, he joked, “I should have thought more about it because sometimes they kill off the main character.”

Still, Postecoglou remains focused and optimistic. “I really feel like we’re building something exciting here,” he said.

“I’ve got a strong group of players, great staff, and a club that now knows how to win.”

So far, he hasn’t had any talks with the club’s directors about his job. “Maybe they’re just waiting for the right time,” he said.

“I haven’t spent much time thinking about it. I just don’t let anything distract me.”

Tottenham will need to win their final match and hope for other teams to lose in order to avoid having their worst league finish since they were relegated in 1977.

If they don’t win, they’ll also end the season with their lowest points total ever in the Premier League era — even lower than their 44 points in the 1997-98 season.

Still, with a European trophy in hand, Postecoglou believes there’s hope for the future. “I’m not going to set limits on what we can do,” he said.
