Mohamed Salah became the first Liverpool player to score 50 goals in Europe after netting in a 2-1 win over Lille.

The Egyptian forward opened the scoring in the 34th minute, latching onto a precise through ball from Curtis Jones before slotting past Lucas Chevalier.

The goal not only solidified Salah’s status as Liverpool’s all-time top scorer in Europe but also placed him in an elite group of Champions League legends, drawing level with Arsenal icon Thierry Henry.

Since surpassing Steven Gerrard’s previous record of 41 European goals in the 2022-23 season, Salah has continued to extend his lead.

His latest milestone came in just 82 matches, averaging a goal every 126 minutes in European competitions.

While Salah was breaking records in attack, Liverpool’s defense also made history.

By reaching halftime without conceding, Arne Slot’s side extended their streak to 577 minutes without letting in a goal in Europe—breaking a 20-year-old club record previously set by Rafael Benítez’s squad in the 2005-06 season.

This remarkable defensive resilience has seen Liverpool keep clean sheets against top sides like Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, and RB Leipzig during the Champions League league phase.
