A bigger and better version of the FIFA Club World Cup is coming to the United States in summer 2025!

  • 📅 Dates: June 15 – July 13
  • 🏟️ Location: 12 U.S. cities including Miami, Los Angeles, and New Jersey

This tournament is getting a major upgrade. It used to have just 7 teams and happened every year.

Now it will take place every four years and feature 32 of the best clubs from around the world!

🌐 Who Gets to Play?

Clubs from 6 continents will take part:

Famous teams like Manchester City, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Flamengo will be there.

🟣 Surprise! Inter Miami (Lionel Messi’s team) will play too — even though they didn’t win the league.

They were picked as the best regular-season team in the U.S. in 2024.

All 63 games will be shown free on DAZN, a sports streaming platform. Some local TV channels might also show the games.

😬 Why Is It Controversial?

Not everyone is happy about the tournament.
Player unions and managers say:

Liverpool’s Alisson and Man City’s Rodri have both spoken out. City’s coach, Pep Guardiola, wants a delayed start to the Premier League.

⚽ What About the Women’s Euros?

This Club World Cup overlaps with the Women’s Euro 2025 (July 2–27), held in Switzerland.

Some people are worried the men’s tournament might take attention away from the women’s games.

FIFA says there won’t be too many schedule clashes, since the time zones are different.
