Manchester United is planning big changes after a disappointing season where they finished 15th in the Premier League and missed out on European football.

The team is hoping to rebuild under their new manager, Ruben Amorim, and they’ve already started by trying to sign some key players.

United Wants Viktor Gyokeres

One of their main targets is Viktor Gyokeres, a strong striker currently playing for Sporting Lisbon.

United is in competition with Arsenal to sign him, but Amorim—who used to coach Gyokeres—is eager to bring him to Old Trafford.

The transfer could cost around £59 million, and United may need to sell one of their big-name players to afford it.

New Signings Coming In

United has already agreed to sign Matheus Cunha for £62.5 million.

They are also talking to Bryan Mbeumo, a fast and talented winger from Brentford.

Mbeumo wants to join United, but the club will need to pay a transfer fee of £60 million and agree to his big salary of £250,000 a week!

Both Cunha and Mbeumo are expected to play attacking roles in Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation, which uses three attackers up front.

However, United still needs a top striker, especially since Rasmus Hojlund hasn’t performed well in the past two seasons.

Other Options for Striker

United also considered Liam Delap, but he chose to sign with Chelsea instead.

That may allow Nicolas Jackson—another striker at Chelsea—to leave, and United might be interested in him too.

If they can’t get Gyokeres, United may turn to Victor Osimhen, who is returning to Napoli after a loan spell with Galatasaray.

Amorim still hopes to reunite with Gyokeres, believing he would be the perfect fit for the team.

What the Experts Say

Former United captain Gary Neville supports the moves for Cunha and Mbeumo.

He said the team needs players who can run fast and play both with and without the ball.

He added that Old Trafford, United’s home stadium, feels big for players, so having fast and energetic attackers is important.

Neville believes Cunha and Mbeumo are experienced and ready to help right away, especially since they have already played in the Premier League.

Summary

Manchester United is working quickly to rebuild after a tough season. They’ve signed Cunha and are working on deals for Mbeumo and Gyokeres.
