Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku recently visited Ghana and received a special blessing from the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
The 23-year-old football star, whose parents are from Ghana, is spending part of his summer break reconnecting with his roots.
During his trip, Doku visited historical sites like the Cape Coast Castle and even played football with locals in Madina.

But the highlight of his visit came when he and his family—parents and siblings included—paid their respects to the Asante King.
Doku gifted the Asantehene an official Manchester City jersey, and in return, the King offered his blessing.
Doku seemed truly moved by the moment and proudly posed for pictures with the King and his family at the palace.

Though born in Belgium, Doku has always spoken warmly about his Ghanaian heritage.
His visit home reflects a deeper connection to the land of his ancestors.
The Manchester City winger has had a solid run with the club so far.
He joined in 2023 and has already helped the team win the English Premier League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
