Arsenal have reached an agreement on personal terms with Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, signaling their intent to move for the England international.
Although a formal offer has not yet been submitted, the player is open to joining the Gunners.
Madueke, 23, is seen as a key target to strengthen Arsenal’s right wing. He can also operate on the left, adding versatility to Mikel Arteta’s attack.
This move would mark the second deal between Arsenal and Chelsea this summer.
Earlier, Arsenal signed goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga after triggering his £5 million release clause.
Madueke made 45 appearances for Chelsea last season.
He scored 11 goals and recorded five assists, despite missing time due to a hamstring injury.
He was also dropped from two matchday squads by head coach Enzo Maresca, including the 3–0 win over Aston Villa in December and a loss to Fulham, citing training performance and a “technical decision.”
The winger joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023. He has since featured in 91 matches. His current contract runs until 2030.
Before Chelsea, Madueke developed at Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace academies.
He moved to PSV in 2018 and later extended his stay with the Dutch side before moving to Stamford Bridge.
On the international stage, Madueke earned his first England senior call-up in August 2024. He now has seven caps to his name.
Arsenal’s interest in Madueke is part of a broader search for attacking reinforcements.
Other players on their radar include Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace and Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have bolstered their forward line with several major signings.
These include Liam Delap (£30m from Ipswich), Joao Pedro (over £50m from Brighton), and Jamie Gittens (£48.5m plus £3.5m add-ons from Borussia Dortmund).
Madueke’s move would add speed, creativity, and depth to Arsenal’s attacking options.
The Gunners are expected to advance talks with Chelsea in the coming days.
