Chelsea winger Mykhaylo Mudryk has reportedly attracted interest from a Bundesliga club as speculation mounts over his future at Stamford Bridge.

Since his high-profile arrival in January 2023 for a potential £89m, Mudryk has struggled to meet expectations, recording just 10 goals and nine assists in 73 appearances.

His situation has been further complicated by an alleged failed drugs test, which has sidelined him since November 2024.

While details regarding his case remain unclear, that has not deterred interest from a top German club looking to revive his career.

Leverkusen Ready to Offer Fresh Start?

According to Fichajes, Bayer Leverkusen are exploring the possibility of signing Mudryk on loan, contingent on his return to competitive action.

The Bundesliga leaders believe that Xabi Alonso can unlock Mudryk’s potential, provided the Spanish coach stays at the club beyond this season.

Leverkusen are currently in a title race with Bayern Munich, trailing by six points, but uncertainty looms over Alonso’s future, with reports linking him to other European giants.

Regardless, the club is preparing for a transitional period, where Mudryk could play a key role if given the opportunity.

Chelsea’s Stance: Loan Move Likely?

At Chelsea, competition on the wings remains fierce, with Noni Madueke emerging as the preferred option.

Meanwhile, upcoming arrivals Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez could push Mudryk further down the pecking order.

While a permanent sale seems unlikely due to his inconsistent performances, a loan move to the Bundesliga could provide the 24-year-old with a much-needed fresh start.

Whether Chelsea would sanction the deal remains to be seen, but with his future uncertain, a temporary exit appears to be the most viable option.
