Manchester City, one of the strongest football teams in England, is having a very tough season.

They didn’t win the Premier League, they lost the FA Cup final, and they were knocked out early in the Champions League.

Now, they must win their last two games to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Even Erling Haaland, one of their top players, called this season “horrific.”

A Sad Ending at Wembley

In the FA Cup final, Crystal Palace surprised everyone by beating Manchester City.

Eberechi Eze scored the winning goal for Palace.

City’s star midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, showed clear frustration as the final minutes ticked away.

This could be his last big game for the club.

City fans hoped this match would save the season.

But now, things might get worse if they don’t win their next game against Bournemouth on Tuesday.

Big Changes Are Coming

City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, said he learned a lot from this season.

He has won many trophies since joining City in 2016, but now he faces a new challenge.

Some important players are leaving, like Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker.

Others, like Rodri and Haaland, have been injured, which made it harder for the team to score goals.

Last season, City scored 96 league goals. This year, they’ve only scored 67 with two games left.

A New Generation?

City’s owners are trying to build a younger team.

In January, they signed young players like Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, and Vitor Reis.

But new players often need time to settle in and play well together.

Without De Bruyne, City needs someone new to lead the attack.

Guardiola has been testing different tactics and formations, like using four defenders in midfield or placing young players in new positions.

But nothing has worked perfectly so far.

Looking Ahead

Guardiola has agreed to stay as manager for two more seasons.

He now needs to come up with new ideas to make City strong again.

But if they don’t finish in the top five, they won’t get to play in the Champions League next year, which could make rebuilding the team even harder.

There’s also the Club World Cup coming up, which will give them less time to prepare for next season.

Guardiola and his players have no time to rest.
