Just moments after Arsenal’s painful Champions League semi-final defeat to PSG, Chelsea couldn’t resist taking a cheeky swipe at their London rivals.

The Gunners were eliminated 3-1 on aggregate, with PSG’s Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi sealing the win despite a late Bukayo Saka consolation goal.

While Arsenal’s dreams of reaching Munich faded, Chelsea took to X (formerly Twitter) with a perfectly timed post.

“Back home tomorrow. Looking to reach a European final for the eighth time in our history.”

With that, the Blues reminded everyone that they remain the only London club to have lifted the Champions League trophy – twice, in fact.

The post referred to their own semi-final second leg against Djurgårdens in the Conference League, where they hold a 4-1 first-leg advantage.

Fans immediately picked up on the timing:

  • “My club mocking Arsenal.”
  • “Unwarranted dig, but I dig it.”
  • “The timing of this post is diabolical.”

If Chelsea go all the way, they’ll become the first English club to win all three major European competitions.

But for now, their social media win over Arsenal is already making headlines.
