His goal? To become a Tottenham player.
Spurs have already spent big this summer, bringing in:
- Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich (£30 million)
- Mohammed Kudus from West Ham (£55 million)
- Kota Takai, a promising defender from Japan (£5 million)
In total, that’s £90 million already spent—and they were ready to add another £60 million to trigger Gibbs-White’s release clause.
Trouble with Forest
Just when it seemed everything was set, Nottingham Forest threw a wrench in the works.
They accused Tottenham of making an illegal approach to Gibbs-White, and have even threatened legal action.

The transfer is now in limbo.

Forest are upset about how Spurs contacted the player and claim confidential terms were leaked.
As a result, the transfer is now in limbo. But Tottenham haven’t backed off—and neither has Gibbs-White.
The Player Takes Control
According to a Spurs news source, Gibbs-White has taken matters into his own hands by handing in a transfer request.
He’s made it clear that he wants to leave Forest and join Tottenham.
One journalist even said Forest’s owner is “being dramatic” and that this move will happen regardless of the club’s protests.
Gibbs-White could even take legal action himself if Forest tries to block the move.
“Slavery was abolished in the 1830s in the UK. Gibbs-White will be a Spurs player. It’s done,” the source boldly claimed.
Why Spurs Want Him
Gibbs-White is no ordinary player. Last season, he scored 7 goals and provided 10 assists—incredible numbers for a midfielder.
At just 25, he’s entering his prime and would bring energy, creativity, and vision to the Spurs midfield.
He’s also on £80,000 per week and has experience from both Forest and Wolves.
🧠 What’s Next?
- Tottenham still believe the deal will go through.
- Forest are holding firm, but pressure is building.
- The Premier League may step in to help resolve the situation.
What Fans Are Saying
Some Tottenham fans are getting frustrated, saying the club needs to move quickly.
Others are urging Spurs to go after other targets too—like Simons or Adam Wharton—just in case.
Bottom Line
Gibbs-White wants to be a Tottenham player. He’s made that loud and clear.
