It looks like one of Manchester City’s most trusted players might be on the move.
Galatasaray, the Turkish champions, have stepped forward with a €3 million bid to sign Ederson, City’s first-choice goalkeeper for nearly a decade.
Yes, you read that right — Ederson, the cool-headed Brazilian shot-stopper who’s been part of nearly every major City trophy run under Pep Guardiola.

Is Ederson’s Time at City Coming to an End?
Since arriving from Benfica back in 2017, Ederson has been more than just a goalkeeper — he’s been a key part of how City play.
Great reflexes, calm on the ball, and those killer long passes… he’s made 372 appearances and kept 168 clean sheets.
Under Pep, Ederson helped deliver:
- 6 Premier League titles
- 2 FA Cups
- 4 EFL Cups
- 1 Champions League
Now 31, he’s still got plenty left in the tank — and Galatasaray think they’re the perfect next chapter for him.
Why Galatasaray Want Him
Galatasaray are on the hunt for a strong replacement for their longtime goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, and Ederson is right at the top of their list.
They’ve officially made an offer — but many believe €3 million won’t be enough to tempt City.
Still, the interest is real, and Ederson reportedly likes the sound of Galatasaray’s sporting project — especially the chance to play in the Champions League again.
Saudi Clubs Also in the Race
Don’t count out the Saudi Pro League clubs.
Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad are both watching closely and could throw down huge money to sign Ederson too.
But Galatasaray might have something money can’t buy: ambition on the European stage and a footballing tradition that could appeal to a competitor like Ederson.
If He Leaves… Who Replaces Him?
City aren’t sleeping on this. They’re already scouting options. Here are a few names making the rounds:
- Marc-André ter Stegen – though injury could keep him at Barça
- Diogo Costa – the rising star at Porto
- Gianluigi Donnarumma – the PSG and Italy No. 1
- James Trafford – former Manchester City and Burnley goalkeeper
Whoever comes in has big gloves to fill.
What Happens Next?
If this transfer goes through, it would truly be the end of an era for Ederson at City.
He’s been a rock at the back and a quiet leader during one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.
Galatasaray would be getting a battle-tested winner.
The question is — will City let him go for just €3 million? Probably not.
Earlier, Ederson has made it clear that he remains committed to Manchester City.
