Manchester United cruised to a 3-0 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, with Rasmus Højlund finally breaking his 21-game goal drought.
The win gives United a slight boost in an otherwise disappointing season, while Leicester inches closer to relegation.
Højlund Ends Goal Drought in Style
The Danish striker, who hadn’t found the net since December, capitalized on poor Leicester defending to put United ahead in the 28th minute.
His confident finish past Mads Hermansen marked the end of a frustrating spell and set the tone for the match.
Alejandro Garnacho doubled United’s lead in the 67th minute, following a defensive lapse from Leicester.

The Argentine winger had previously seen a goal ruled out for offside but made no mistake the second time.
Bruno Fernandes, who orchestrated much of United’s attack, sealed the win in the 90th minute with a composed finish from the edge of the area.
The Portuguese playmaker was instrumental, providing two assists before scoring himself.
Leicester’s Relegation Woes Deepen
Leicester’s 13th defeat in 14 games leaves them nine points adrift from safety, making relegation to the Championship seem inevitable.
The Foxes also set an unwanted record, becoming the first top-flight team to lose seven consecutive home games without scoring.
Despite late efforts from Facundo Buonanotte and Jamie Vardy, Leicester struggled to trouble United’s defense.
Their only close moment came when Christian Eriksen hit the post early in the game.
Ayden Heaven’s Injury Casts a Shadow on United’s Win
While United celebrated a dominant performance, they suffered a blow when young defender Ayden Heaven was forced off with a suspected serious injury in the 51st minute.
Making only his second career start, the teenager had shown promise before falling awkwardly.
With an already depleted defensive lineup—including Lisandro Martínez, Luke Shaw, and Jonny Evans out injured—United manager Ruben Amorim faces selection headaches ahead of their Europa League quarter-final against Lyon.
What’s Next?
Manchester United: Currently in 13th place, they will shift focus to their European campaign, hoping to salvage their season.
Leicester City: With just a handful of games left, their survival hopes appear bleak. Manager Ruud van Nistelrooy remains defiant, stating,
We can’t and we won’t give up – we will fight ’til the end.
“As I said, mathematically until it’s impossible, we keep going. We want to show that we can score goals, that we can get a clean sheet at this level and pick up points.”
