The summer transfer window is shaping up to be an intense one, with Liverpool and Arsenal locked in a battle for one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers—Alexander Isak.

The Newcastle United star has been in sensational form, scoring 23 goals this season and playing a crucial role in ending the club’s 56-year trophy drought.

Liverpool Enters the Race

Reports suggest that Liverpool have opened talks with Isak’s camp in an effort to beat Arsenal to his signature.

The Reds are in search of a striker upgrade, with Darwin Nunez struggling for consistency.

Liverpool’s interest was evident even before Isak’s stunning performance against them at Wembley.

Fabrizio Romano confirms that Liverpool’s interest is serious, despite Arsenal making Isak their “priority” target for the summer.

With only Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah outscoring him in the Premier League, Isak’s goal-scoring ability is exactly what both clubs need.

A Record-Breaking Price Tag?

Newcastle are reluctant to part ways with their talisman and are reportedly demanding as much as £150 million—a fee that would break the British transfer record.

Liverpool have previously shown a willingness to spend big, having bid £111 million for Moises Caicedo, but Arsenal remain determined to land their top target.

To fund the move, Liverpool may offload Darwin Nunez, who was previously linked with a Saudi Pro League transfer.

The Uruguayan has struggled this season, starting only eight Premier League games and scoring just seven goals across all competitions.

Isak’s Future Still Uncertain

Despite growing interest from top clubs, Isak remains focused on Newcastle. When asked about his future, he stated:

“I’m happy here, and we are contenders for titles. I haven’t thought much about the summer, but there will probably be discussions when the season ends.”

His contract runs until 2028, but Newcastle’s financial constraints may make it difficult to offer him a significant pay raise.

This could give an advantage to clubs with bigger financial resources, such as Arsenal and Liverpool.

Will Isak Move This Summer?
