Manchester City aren’t slowing down this summer — and now, they’ve taken a big step toward adding Morgan Gibbs-White to their squad.

According to Football Insider, City have agreed personal terms with the Nottingham Forest star, signaling serious intent to bring him in during their ongoing squad overhaul.

The midfielder is reportedly open to the move, with only a deal between the two clubs left to finalize.

It’s been a busy window for Pep Guardiola’s side.

They’ve already added Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, Rayan Aït-Nouri, and Marcus Bettinelli to the ranks.

And with Kevin De Bruyne’s departure marking the end of an era, the club is clearly planning for the future — possibly with Gibbs-White in the picture.

Initially, some thought the arrival of Cherki would end City’s interest in Gibbs-White.

But that doesn’t seem to be the case.

With more players expected to leave — including James McAtee, and uncertainty still surrounding Ilkay Gundogan — Guardiola might be keeping his midfield options open.

As for Forest, they’re in a tricky spot.

They really don’t want to lose Gibbs-White — especially with Anthony Elanga already on his way to Newcastle.

But financial pressure might force their hand.

Like other Premier League clubs, Forest have to stay within the league’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Selling one of their most valuable assets could help them avoid trouble.

Gibbs-White has been a standout player since joining from Wolves in 2022.

Last season, he was a major reason Forest finished an impressive 7th in the Premier League, scoring 7 goals and providing 10 assists in 34 games.

His creativity, energy, and vision in the final third made him a fan favorite.

City already have attacking talents like Phil Foden, Cherki, Nico O’Reilly, Claudio Echeverri, and McAtee.

But if they make room — especially with McAtee likely heading out — Gibbs-White could fit right into Guardiola’s plans.

Nothing is signed yet, but this move is heating up fast.

If things keep going this way, it might not be long before Morgan Gibbs-White is pulling on a City shirt.
