Manchester United, one of the biggest football clubs in the world, has told some of its workers at the training ground that they might lose their jobs.

This is the second time the club is letting people go since Sir Jim Ratcliffe became part-owner last year.

About 200 jobs could be cut, especially in the sports science, medical, and scouting teams.

Some workers found out just recently, after an important game against Tottenham, so the team could focus on that match without distractions.

Before this, the club had about 1,100 employees. Last year, they already let go about 250 workers to save money.

This year, the club plans to cut another 150 to 200 jobs.

Manchester United is having financial problems. They lost a lot of money in the past five years—over £370 million!

Also, they won’t be playing in European competitions next season, which means they will lose about £100 million in income.

Since Ratcliffe bought a part of the club in early 2024, he has been trying to reduce costs.

For example, the club closed the staff canteen and replaced it with free fruit.

Even some famous former players like Sir Alex Ferguson have changed roles at the club.

Despite these tough times, the club still tried to keep spirits up by holding a barbecue for players and their families after the recent loss against Tottenham.

Overall, Manchester United is working hard to manage money better, but it means many workers may lose their jobs.
