England manager Thomas Tuchel has announced his latest England national football team squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
His bold and surprising decisions have already sparked debate among fans and pundits.
Phil Foden and Jack Grealish — two key players from Manchester City — have been left out of the squad.
According to reports, Foden requested a break from international duty to focus on his mental and physical well-being following a taxing season.
Grealish, on the other hand, has reportedly not done enough to earn a spot after a series of underwhelming performances throughout the campaign.
One of the headline inclusions is Ivan Toney, who has been recalled to the national side for the first time since his move to Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League.
Toney left Brentford as a free agent and turned down offers from several Premier League clubs to secure a lucrative deal in the Middle East.
Despite the controversial nature of his transfer, Tuchel has shown faith in the striker’s abilities.
Joining Toney in the squad are several familiar faces who are returning under Tuchel’s leadership, including Bukayo Saka, Conor Gallagher, Noni Madueke, and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
These players were not part of Tuchel’s first squad but have performed well enough to earn recalls.
Making headlines is also Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, who has earned his first senior England call-up.
