Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has spoken out following protests from Blues fans demanding his departure from the club.
Before Chelsea’s 4-0 victory over Southampton, supporters gathered outside Stamford Bridge, chanting, “We want our Chelsea back” and directing explicit criticism not only at Boehly but to all Chelsea owners.
Addressing the backlash at the FT Business of Football Summit, Boehly remained unfazed:
“It’s par for the course. The sooner you learn you’re not going to keep everyone happy, the freedom shows up. We’re executing a plan, and while progress isn’t always linear, the trend is moving in the right direction.”

Reflecting on his tenure since taking over from Roman Abramovich in 2022, Boehly acknowledged the challenges:
“In June, it’ll be three years in charge. That’s not a long time, especially in football. It’s been a whirlwind and a steep learning curve, but that’s part of the process.”
Despite finishing 12th and 6th in the last two seasons, Chelsea currently sits 5th in the Premier League table with less than 11 matches remaining.
Boehly remains confident in the club’s long-term vision, but the fans’ frustrations continue to grow.
Will results on the pitch be enough to win them over? Time will tell.
