What’s Next for Jack Grealish at Man City?

Manchester City made sure they didn’t miss out on next season’s Champions League by beating Fulham 2-0 on the final day of the season.

But fans noticed one big thing—Jack Grealish wasn’t in the team.

Why Didn’t Grealish Play?

After the game, City manager Pep Guardiola was asked why Grealish wasn’t picked. He sounded a little annoyed.

“Don’t ask me if I’m happy with Jack,” Pep said. “I’m the one who wanted him to join the team. I wanted him to stay this season. It wasn’t personal.”

Pep said other players like Rico Lewis and James McAtee were doing well, so he chose them instead.

Grealish’s Tough Season

Jack Grealish used to be one of the stars at Manchester City. He helped them win three big trophies in 2023.

But this season has been rough. He scored just one goal and didn’t play much.

He also didn’t make the England squad for Euro 2024. Grealish was very upset about that.

Could He Be Leaving City?

Guardiola said Grealish needs to play more often—maybe even every three days. But he hasn’t had that chance this season.

“He needs to play,” said Pep. “If it’s not with us, then maybe somewhere else.”

Other Players May Also Leave

Grealish might not be the only one. Kevin De Bruyne played his last game for the club. Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips are also likely to go.

Even goalkeeper Ederson and star midfielder Bernardo Silva may leave.

What’s Next for City?

Despite not winning any trophies this season, Manchester City still earned over £100 million by reaching the Champions League.

They will play in the Club World Cup soon, and new players might join the team this summer.
