Liverpool left it late but still found a way to win, beating Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor thanks to a stoppage-time penalty from Mohamed Salah.

It wasn’t their best performance, but it showed once again that this Liverpool side knows how to fight until the very end.

A Tough Evening in Burnley

From the very start, Liverpool had most of the ball.

They passed it around, tried to create space, and pushed Burnley back.

But the home side defended with great discipline.

Burnley’s players stayed compact, closed gaps quickly, and didn’t give Liverpool much room in dangerous areas.

For much of the first half, Liverpool couldn’t find a clear opening.

They had shots, but nothing too troubling for the Burnley goalkeeper.

On the other end, Burnley didn’t attack much, but when they did, they looked to catch Liverpool on the counter.

It was a frustrating first half for Arne Slot’s men, and the frustration carried on after the break.

Burnley’s Red Card Changed the Game

The match turned in the 84th minute.

Burnley’s midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu received a second yellow card for a foul, and the referee showed him the red.

With Burnley down to ten men, Liverpool pressed harder and put even more pressure on their defence.

Burnley still defended bravely, but you could feel the cracks starting to show.

The question was whether Liverpool would take advantage before the final whistle.

Salah Delivers in Stoppage Time

The answer came deep into injury time.

Liverpool won a penalty after a Burnley player handled the ball inside the box.

Up stepped Mohamed Salah — cool as ever under pressure.

The Egyptian forward sent the goalkeeper the wrong way and smashed the ball into the net.

It was the 95th minute, and Liverpool had finally broken Burnley’s resistance.

The away fans erupted with relief and joy, knowing how important those three points could be.

What the Win Means

This victory keeps Liverpool unbeaten in the Premier League.

Even though it wasn’t a free-flowing display, Slot will be pleased with the spirit and patience his players showed.

Sometimes in football, it’s not about playing beautifully — it’s about finding a way to win.

And Liverpool are showing they can do that.

For Burnley, it was heartbreak. They defended well for most of the game and looked set to take a valuable point.

But one mistake, one moment of misfortune, cost them at the very end.

Still, their performance showed fight and discipline, and there are positives they can take forward.

A Sign of Champions?

Winning ugly, grinding out results, and scoring late winners are all traits of a strong team.

If Liverpool want to challenge for the title this season, these kinds of wins could make the difference.
